History of Morgan Sand & Gravel Inc.
Morgan Sand & Gravel Inc. was founded in 1935 by Llewellyn E. Morgan, Sr. Operations began when the State of Wisconsin was looking for product to be used on the first highway 29, and this site was chosen. "The Gravel King," as he became known, had trucks loaded by hand for the highway, 24 hours a day. Llewellyn E. Morgan, Jr. (Bud) began working with the business as a young child. In the late 1950s, Bud and his wife, Dorothy, took over the business.
Bud Morgan passed away in 1991, and his wife is retired from the business. Morgan Sand & Gravel Inc. is now owned and operated by a third generation of Morgans, comprised of Linda Lemmer, Timothy Lemmer, Lois Stieber and Gordon Stieber.
Morgan Sand & Gravel Inc.'s operations have changed and grown over the years in response to the changing needs of our customers. In 1981, a mobile concrete division was formed, but this division ceased operations in the mid 1990s as industry needs changed. Our ready mix concrete division began in 1992 and continues to grow.
Morgan Sand & Gravel Inc. services homeowners, farmers, contractors and businesses, to name a few. We are proud of the traditions that started this business and the high value associated with our name and products.
